Being

Dear God,

I am in a “grasping” place this morning.  Shakti Gawain recommends letting go, relaxing and letting go, when we feel this way.

Being with You is the most important way I can spend my time.  It is the way home to You.  And being with You is natural, no grasping necessary.

Amen.

Patience

Dear God,

My church community just received an online video from our pastor that emphasized “patience.”  I know that patience is one of my goals.  I once asserted in a conversation that I had a lot of patience, but that was wishful thinking.  Now I know how far I have to go.

And maybe I have life circumstances ahead that will demand additional patience, but will come out alright in the end.  I am naturally optimistic, and that too is a great blessing.

Thank You for taking me by the hand and guiding me to greater patience as I run the race that is before me.

Amen.

Baseball

Dear God,

The Men’s College World Series in baseball is a good diversion.  I have surprised myself with enjoying sports in recent years.  And my team is winning, always a welcome attraction!

Keep me living and working with a good mix of activities.  You don’t want drudges.  Life is meant to be enjoyed, even as we take on challenges.

Thank You for guiding me to a good life.

Amen.

Allergies

Dear God,

I am dealing with allergies today, have used medication and am still sneezing.  Help me to be patient.  What beautiful, blooming flower outside is tricking my body?  I am grateful for the loveliness of arriving summer.

These minor matters can agitate me needlessly.  Keep me on level ground, sure that a minor problem is not exacerbated by tension.

Thank You.

Amen.

Dreams

Dear God,

I had the confirmation in a dream of something I have wondered about for a very long time.  Help me to take this piece of information and do with it as You would have me do.  I appreciate that You trusted me enough to let me know what has long been a conundrum.

Nocturnal dreams work to show us the real world.  Dreams may even show us Your Mind.

Thank You.

Amen.

Depending on God’s Strong Will

Dear God,

Give me Your strength, not to be self-sufficient without You, but courageous in a good sense, including You always.  If I stay close to You, there is no end to what I can accomplish.  This is not ego speaking, but supreme good sense.

You have much that You want us to do in this world.  Speak to me in Your silence and give me the will to do Your bidding.

Thank You!

Amen.

Forgiveness

Dear God,

You know that I am seeking to forgive someone I haven’t seen in a year, but will see again in a month.  I know that “to understand all is to forgive all.”  But, more importantly, “Forgive, and then you will come to understand.”

Soothe my troubled spirit and let me come into that loving space that forgives all things in all people.

Thank You.

Amen.
