All Is Well

Dear God,

I have been reading an uplifting anecdote.  A woman attended church services, prayed deeply, and found in the upcoming week that suddenly, unexpectedly, all was well with her.

Your power is with me for the asking.  I know that You don’t bestow your power unwisely, and so I hope that You have found me ready, in Your eyes, for this better feeling.

Thank You for granting me a blessing.

Amen.

Drowsiness

Dear God,

It is an overcast day, and I still feel sleepy though I had a good night’s rest.  Please take me where I am and soothe me in Your arms.  I can use these moments of sleepiness to get closer to You, undeterred by an excess of energy.

You accept me just as I am, and if I am sluggish today, You will heal me in Your good time.  Thank You for giving me this assurance.

Amen.

Peace

Dear God,

Peace reigns in my heart now, and with this peace I know the day will go smoothly.  If only peace could reign just all the time!  That is my prayer this morning.  Come into my heart, make it pure, and cleave me to Your breast!

Thank You for giving me Your assurance that I am “justified” in Your sight.  You see me as an innocent child who nevertheless makes mistakes.  Your benediction heals.

Amen.

Trust

Dear God,

I need to trust in You and my world a little more than I do.  You do not ask a lot of faith for this, but You do ask some.  A “little willingness.”

I do have a little willingness, and I pray that this degree of faith is all that You do ask.  Let me revel in trusting You, and I am convinced life will flow along smoothly–for You are always with me.

In trust I know this.

Thank You for taking me by the hand and leading me into the light.

Amen.

Soothing My Heart

Dear God,

I am feeling some stress from activities that promise to be a month off.  Please cocoon me with Your stress-free living.  Help me to pace, to know that I don’t have to do everything yesterday.

It becomes irrational to look to the future when living in the present is what You ask of us.  I would live in the present today, not dwell in anticipation.

Thank You for soothing me with Your silent word in my heart.

Amen.

Exercise

Dear God,

A friend has been telling me that I need more variety in my life.  In this pandemic she has noticed that I am in a routine, and she thinks I need to jostle it.  So this morning I walked a while for exercise, something that is out of my routine.  And I do feel quite invigorated.

You must tell me what to do, because I depend on You more than friends.  Your way will work.  Your way knows me very well, and I trust You to see me through to a happier time.

Thank You for giving me the assurance that following You is the only way to live.

Amen.
