This Is the Day which the Lord Hath Made

Dear God,

Today I said to myself, preparing breakfast, “This is the day which the Lord hath made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.”  This biblical statement encouraged me; thank You.

My husband says that I am just hungry first thing, therefore have low blood sugar after a long sleep and no food for 14 hours.  My mood lifts during breakfast, and so he is right.

Thank You for giving me patience with my moods.

Amen.

Inner Prompting

Dear God,

When circumstances pile upon circumstances, I begin to believe that what I am trying to do is simply on the wrong beam.  This is one way that You speak to us, or so I believe.

Circumstances are crowding out what I intended for good, and so maybe I need to listen carefully to Your guidance.  What I perceive as good may not be good for someone else.  We need to walk carefully through this world, always listening to inner prompting from You, not depending on our own limited sight.

Thank You for letting me reach this satisfying conclusion this morning.

Amen.

Miracle

Dear God,

I saw a miracle this morning—true, a small miracle, but still it was evidence of Your presence, for there truly are no small miracles.   None are greater or smaller than any other.  This one warmed my heart and made me feel lighthearted as well.

Thank You for Your abiding care.  You never leave me alone to fend for myself.

Amen.

Calm

Dear God,

I am sleeping better and as a result feel calmer the next morning.  Thank You!  This request has been on my prayer list for a long time.  Maybe I wasn’t ready sooner.

You can’t answer prayer if we are resistant.  We need to be in league with You to receive a prompt, helpful Answer.

Thank You for working with my mind and heart to better listen to You.

Amen.

Asking for Help from God

Dear God,

Thanks to some web searching, I am incorporating some differences in the late evening to get ready for sleep.  And I am sleeping well.  Thank You!  I believe that this is one way that You have guided me, when I ask for Your help.

I feel very buoyed.  Thank You for giving me a good night and a good morning.

Amen.

Gratitude

Dear God,

Thank You for this glorious day, sun shining bright, warm temperature.  There is a hint of autumn in the air.  I enjoyed my time on our sun/screen porch before breakfast.

Thank You for guiding me, often without my being aware of it.  I thank You for guidance often, and I do know that Your presence in my life makes a great difference.

Amen.
