Dear God,
I want to be safe, maybe too much. Does it hinder You in acting with me to know that my safety needs seem so large?
I used not to know that this was a safe universe, a friendly universe. When I was in my early teen years, I used to lie awake at night and wonder about just that. Why didn’t I love You more? I was afraid of You.
Now that is all in the past. Long ago I realized that I live in a friendly universe, that You are out there and also within me, just looking to guide–when I will let You.
I will let You today. Keep me wrapped up in Your cocoon of love, knowing that whatever might happen, I truly am safe. Because You deem it so.
Amen.
