Relax & Let Go

Dear God,

I am saying “relax and let go” to myself as a way to invite healing.   Sometimes the pain is obvious, present in my thinking, and I can let it go when I say these words.

“Let go and let God.” Your healing power is immediate and very soothing.

Thank You.

Amen.

When Bad Things Happen to Good People

Dear God,

You are all Love. I have Jesus’ word on this, and he has walked the whole pathway. When bad things happen to good people, it is we ourselves who make that choice. In many ways we are still impatient adolescents, eager to advance our souls to better days through any means.

Pain does not have to turn to suffering. And I can see that when I turn to You, even the pain is mitigated, and all is well.

The Love I feel for You cocoons me in warmth.

Thank You.

Amen.

God Carries Us

Dear God,

You want me to be happy in Your world. Suffering is not really a part of Your plan, but something that comes over me when I take the wrong turn. I bring my low times upon myself.

Knowing this, I ask You to pick me up when I dash my foot on a stone. You carry me when times are tough. You never let me falter for long.

Be with me today to help me design a good day.

Thank You!

Amen.

God Is Happiness

Dear God,

I am reading a spiritual book, finding many heartfelt ideas there.  One thing that it says, though, is that we must learn through pain, pain that arises when subconscious thoughts come up to the conscious mind and get us off center.  A Course in Miracles differs, saying that it is not necessary to learn through pain—that rewards are more lasting.

We often, it is true, learn from pain.  But I don’t think this way comes from You.  You are all happiness, and it is this I would experience today and every day.

I appreciate Your listening to me and giving me Your best ideas.

Amen.

Discovering through Rewards

Dear God,

Sometimes in this life I set up situations that proved to be painful for me, but I know I did it for a higher purpose.

A Course in Miracles says that we don’t have to learn through pain, that rewards are more lasting. And A Course of Love says that we discover, not learn, when we have walked far enough down the pathway back to You. If I stay close to You, I can discover rewards–not pain. You and I together can handle anything.

Thank You for the assurance that You are always with me. Thank You for the revelations of ACIM and ACOL as well.

Amen.

Compassion

Dear God,

I feel compassion for the many people in our world who are in pain, emotional and/or physical.  May their days lighten, their sense of being cared for increase exponentially.

You do not always heal physical pain, but more often than not You do heal emotional pain, when we turn to You with a simple asking.  Prayer helps.  Prayer helps mightily.  I too need to remember this as I go about a day that, for me, seems blessed beyond description.

May all turn to You and know peace.  Thank You.

Amen.

Thinking of Others

Dear God,

Help me to think of others today.  So many are hurting, and they may never tell anybody.  They put on a happy face, but some things are not happy.  May my viewers of this blog feel my good will.

We have You to depend on.  You and our significant others.  Centering in this warmth can give all of us solace.

Thank You.

Amen.

Pain

Dear God,

I have a mild headache from, I think, too much breeze from our air conditioner blower.  We live in a hot climate, and the breeze has been circulating almost constantly for weeks.  I wouldn’t know what caused the headache if it hadn’t happened before, last summer.

The trick is not to turn pain into suffering.  Keep me on an even keel, sure of Your protection and Your love.

Thank You.

Amen.
