Comfort

Dear God,

Please clear my mind.  My day seemed to begin in an awry fashion, and I would have You correct that.  I want this to be a good day, through and through.  I know that You are always with me, helping me.  You untangle the knots in my mind by letting my heart speak to me.

Let my heart speak to me today.  Keep coming with Your comfort.

I appreciate that You know we don’t stay the same all the time, and some days we just seem to need You more.

Amen.

A Course in Miracles

Dear God,

I have returned to A Course in Miracles, my lifeline to good living since I was in my thirties.  A seeming miracle on my wedding day supported my decision to give its words a central place in my life.

The way back to You is easy when we follow Your advice.  Thank You for the gift of ACIM and other volumes that have followed.

Keep my mind steady, my heart warm.  If conflict seems to arise in me, please be tolerant of my slip-ups.

Thank You for holding me in the palm of Your hand.

Amen.

Resting in God

Dear God,

When I rest in Your grace, just being quiet in Your presence, I am rewarded with a mellow feeling of Your Love.  I sense the “peace that passeth understanding.”

Keep my mind and heart close to You today, as every day.  I give myself to You without reserve and without conditions.

Thank You for staying near, living through me with the assurance that all is well.

Amen.

Peace

Dear God,

After a good night’s sleep, my mind is calm and my heart is at ease.  Gratitude is very, very important to our well-being, and I feel very grateful to You today for the many blessings which rain down upon my head.

May this day and this week proceed smoothly.  May I reach out to others in loving kindness.  Thank You for prompting me to do so.

Amen.

A Lift

Dear God,

This day brings a lifted mood to me, the product of much light now that it is spring.  The seasons change, and we benefit thereby.  Thank You for a varying experience with our everyday weather.

It is beneficial to feel a lifted mood, so long as it is natural and not overblown into thoughts that are uncertain and ineffective.  Keep my mind on an even keel today.  Keep my heart loving You and all Your creations.

I appreciate knowing that You hold me close.

Amen.

Easter

Dear God,

This is a special day in our lives:  Easter.  We have rainy skies, but the day doesn’t have to bring sorrow along with the thunder.  Your changing weather supports the vicissitudes of our lives.

May I get and keep right thinking in my mind and right feelings in my heart.  Our celebration of Easter reminds me that things truly may be darkest before the dawn—in every life.

Thank You for taking me in hand.

Amen.

Fun in Life

Dear God,

I am enjoying sports now.  My father would be glad.  I don’t think You play favorites in sports, but I think You might enjoy seeing players  play at their best.  In any endeavor, I think You are on the side of our doing our best—not compulsively, but within reason.

You are a rational God, and I seek to emulate that quality in You.  Guide my mind and heart to intuit from You, but not to employ magical thinking.  This holds for games as well as life, I think.

Thank You for encouraging us to have some fun in life.

Amen.

Communion with God

Dear God,

I really communed with You this morning, an early morning for me.  You seemed to direct my mind into clear Answers.  You have my gratitude.  And at the same time, my gratitude is eliciting a sense of love that warms my heart.

Thank You for directing my mind through my thoughts.  The feelings of my heart told me the truth of what You were prompting in me.

Amen.

Heal Our Minds

Dear God,

Keep me accepting of the weather in the face of a cloudy, rainy day.  Your weather varies, and actually that is one thing I usually like.  But this time I am eager for spring and its sunny days.

Acceptance of what is, is a powerful practice in the living of our days.  We need, above all, to heal our minds, and this can be effected by listening to our heart.

I would listen to my heart today.  A heart is filled with Your love, and I thank You that this is so.

Amen.
