God Helps

Dear God,

I am trying to solve a minor problem, and the more I think about it, the more confused I become.  I ask You to speak to my heart in this quandary.  Your Answers always leave nothing to be desired.

I will clear my mind and soften my heart, now that I have ask You for help. You never fail me.  You are always here, with me, helping me.

Thank You for the reassurance that Your blessing will solve anything that comes up.

Amen.

Love

Dear God,

I want to discover how to love You more.  Your love for me is born of Divinity, and the Divine is all Love.  Guide my heart today to a constant awareness of Your presence in my life—all Love, all joy in that Love.

You are cueing me to love more deeply.  This desire I am expressing comes from You.  You know that life will get only better if I find my way to You more frequently and more certainly.

Thank You for taking me by the hand and tutoring me in love.

Amen.

God Has Everything in Hand

Dear God,

If I have unresolved questions, I have long told myself, “Let it rest lightly on my mind.”  Now I know from A Course of Love that it is my heart that I really need to listen to.  My heart already knows the Answer, but it sometimes takes time for my heart to inform my mind.

When Peter Marshall, once a Chaplain to the U.S. Senate, was perplexed, he said, “I don’t know.  God has not told me yet.”  And he lived in the certainty that God would speak to him in a way that he could understand.

Peter was smart.  And I seek to be smart with the unresolved questions in my life, too.

Thank You for reminding me, through this story, that You have everything in hand.

Amen.

Balm to the Spirit

Dear God,

I am calm and peaceful as I listen to classical music, music that is a balm to the spirit.  Thank You for our CD’s and our Internet radio.  Thank You that we could spend our money in this magnificent way.

If I vow to remain peaceful, my mind and heart will synchronize, and I will live in a healthy way.  This is a goal of mine this day for the present and future.

Thank You for putting this wish in my heart.  Living in a healthy way is my focus, and it is Your wish for me, too, I believe.

Amen.

Let Heart Rule

Dear God,

Improve my batting average.  I seem to make so many mistakes in my thinking.  I know when I let my heart inform my mind, life smooths out.

I will let my heart rule today.  I think I have been afraid of being too emotional, but the emotions are part and parcel of what I am.  Just as are thoughts.

Thank You for these concepts from A Course of Love.

Amen.

Full Heart

Dear God,

My heart is overflowing with gratitude today for the Answer to a longstanding dilemma.  If I had been more attuned to Your Answer, sooner, then I would not have had to wait.  The solution is always with the problem.

May I remember to come to You immediately when something troubles me.  You hold all the Answers.

Thank You for Your solution this day.

Amen.

Listening to the Heart

Dear God,

Keep my mind on an even keel.  Let me listen to my heart when making decisions.  I am so prone to emphasize my mind rather than my heart, and I would switch emphases.

If I have decisions to make today of any import, may I remember to listen to my heart first and foremost.

I appreciate Your guiding me.

Amen.

Heart

Dear God,

I am seeking to put some recurrent thoughts out of my mind.  I think the way to do this is to turn to my heart, letting my heart inform my mind and ask it to submit.  Letting the heart inform the mind is a concept of A Course of Love.

My heart, all warm and fuzzy, solves many problems.  Surely now is a good time to call on it.

Thank You for leading me to a good solution.

Amen.

Obsessions

Dear God,

When I get uptight about something, I tend to hold it in my mind—just obsess.  When this dynamic traps me, I must just relax and let go, release the thought.  Let my heart, as loving as I can make it, rule my day.

You mean for us to enjoy our days.  We are not meant to go from one problem to another, from day to day.  Let me remember this today.  Let me remember this every day.

I appreciate the love with which You cocoon me.

Amen.

Walking with God

Dear God,

I miss You when I don’t sense Your presence.  But I know that You are not withdrawing from me, that it is I who have become preoccupied with mundane matters.  I would seek to bring to mind and heart only those matters that count for something in the grand scheme of things.

Alert me to the important.  Keep me safely thinking, saying, doing, those things that are consistently helpful to my brothers and sisters as well as kind to them.

May my brothers and sisters, and I, together walk into the sunlight with You today.

Amen.
