Uncertainty

Dear God,

I am becoming more conscious of how uncertain life can often be.  I would not obsess about this; it has always been true, and I have lived well regardless of this innate uncertainty about what would happen next.  Your plan for us not to know the future actually gives the potential for life to be quite exciting, a life with a surprise around every corner.

Let me not second-guess the way that life is set up.  You know what You are doing.

And I thank You for a creation that blesses me every day.

Amen.

Good Life

Dear God,

A life can work out in several, maybe many, different ways and still be a good life. My own has taken turns that surprised me. But this is the way it is supposed to be: We can’t see the future.

May the future that starts today be good. May You shape me in ways that You know I need. And may others in my circle benefit from that shaping.

Thank You that I know You live through me.

Amen.

Looking toward the Future

Dear God,

I am looking to the future, when the pandemic, unrest, and economic uncertainty are over.  I am praying that this new day will come soon.

It does nobody any good to look at the dark side of events in our world.  Our positive mind slant, focused in prayer, does work for the good.

Thank You for providing emotional support during these tough times.

Amen.

Live the Moment

Dear God,

As time goes by, the more I realize that ignoring the passage of time is best.  Just live the moment.  The moment will tell me if I have to make plans for the future.  My wisdom will speak to me.

Be with me today as I seek to keep my emotions lifted.  Relaxing into the moment immediately helps me to be happy.

Thank You for Your constant and abiding care.

Amen.

The Future

Dear God,

If I am to return to earth repeatedly in millions of years ahead, I need to discover how to live better.  Take me by the hand and guide me today.  I sense Your presence now, and it is very sweet to me.

You need help to bring all Your children back into the fold.  Guide me to do my part today—and every day.

Thank You for being here with me, living through me.

Amen.
