Living in the Present

Dear God,

I am making a choice to be determined to live in the present, sure of Your guidance about the time and place to make any decisions—and Your guidance about the decisions themselves.  In my high moods, I know that there is nothing that You and I together can’t handle.  In my low moods, the future seems so threatening.

Every spiritual tradition that I know of has counseled living in the present.  Self-help books say the same.  There surely must be something to it.

Be with me in the present today.  Practice makes perfect.  When I consistently practice living in the present, doing so will become easier.

Thank You for guiding me along, footfall by footfall.

Amen.

Decisions

Dear God,

I have a big decision coming up, something that has been on the back burner for years.  Help me to listen to You, to get Your take on this issue.  I want to make a wise choice.  I don’t want to be afraid, and if I am, then my preliminary idea needs to be revisited.

Your input in decisions comes quickly when I ask.  Already I am catching glimmerings of the best way to proceed.  As soon as the problem is articulated, the solution comes right along.

Thank You.

Amen.

Time

Dear God,

I have heard it said that if one thinks they don’t have enough time to get everything done, then the law of attraction will bring that forward:  One will not have enough time.

I am seeking today to remedy my sense of rushing time by eliminating some nonessentials and rearranging my schedule as well.  Help me to make wise decisions.

Thank You.

Amen.

Change

Dear God,

I need a little more variety in my life, different activities, ways to spend time.  I know that even too much spirituality is not a good thing.  Be with me to make choices for a new and satisfying lifestyle.

Be with me as I seek to change my routine.  You want us to be happy in our lives, and too much routine makes for a rut.  You want something better for us.

Thank You for guiding my decisions about change.

Amen.

Decisions

Dear God,

I want to change how I make decisions.  Decisions have always seemed complicated to me.  Guide me to listen to my heart when confronting questions.  Help me to go with what I love, in simplicity.

You don’t mean for us to struggle through life.  Your way is smooth and easy, often the obvious choice.

Thank You for guiding me to every right decision.

Amen.
