Comfort

Dear God,

Please clear my mind.  My day seemed to begin in an awry fashion, and I would have You correct that.  I want this to be a good day, through and through.  I know that You are always with me, helping me.  You untangle the knots in my mind by letting my heart speak to me.

Let my heart speak to me today.  Keep coming with Your comfort.

I appreciate that You know we don’t stay the same all the time, and some days we just seem to need You more.

Amen.

All Things Come Out for Good

Dear God,

I have returned to the Bible this morning, the Psalms.  David knew much trouble in his life, but he also knew much joy in You, much comfort, many blessings.  May I have the positive things that David enjoyed, but I pray that there will be no trouble.

Struggle is supposed to be good, making strong men and women out of us.  I can believe that, though I cringe from the negativity of struggle.

Take me and use me in any way that You deem wise.  I know that all things come out for the good.

Thank You for this understanding.

Amen.

Presence of God

Dear God,

I missed our communion, in prayer, early this morning.  But You are always here, ready and waiting.  It is I who is slow.

It means a lot that we can call on You at any time, sure of a response, knowing You have a response even if we shouldn’t immediately feel anything.  Our communion gives me peace and comfort, two necessities in our conflicted world.

Thank You for staying by so near always.

Amen.

God and We Are One

Dear God,

Though I know that You and I, and everyone, are One, it still comforts me to talk to You as though You were distinct.  And in a way, You are, certainly.  The comfort that I feel is evidence of the satisfaction of a need.  Thank You for offering this satisfaction.

Be with us in this coming year.  May all of us join with You in ever-increasing ways.

Thank You for granting the peace that passeth understanding in our lives and fortunes.

Amen.

Comfort

Dear God,

Your comfort is tangible.  I welcome Your solace with every little thing.  So often I thank You for comforting me in the midst of my life.  Life is very much better when we let You into ours.

Thank You for letting me know that Your presence is always nearby.  I appreciate that I don’t have to go it alone.  I appreciate that You wrap me up in Your arms and let me know that all is well.

Amen.
