Living in the Now Moment

Dear God,

If I discover how to live consistently in the present moment, all of my life will smooth out—because this is the way You intended me to live.  If I need to weave plans for the future, guidance from You will let me know to do so at the appropriate time.  My Inner Wisdom will then kick in, and Inner Wisdom comes from deep within, where You reside.

Living in the Now takes practice.  I intend to live, mindfully, in the gift of the present today—practicing with patience, not chastising myself when I fall short.

Be with me as I seek to carry out these optimal ways of being.

Amen.

Being

Dear God,

I am relaxing today, not pushing to do anything that isn’t necessary.  And even holding off on some of the necessary “to do’s.”

All my life I have pushed myself.  But maybe “being” is often more important than “doing.”  I find it so today.

Thank You for this glimmer of understanding, something that I have long known but did not sufficiently heed.

Amen.

Gratitude

Dear God,

Blessings fall on my head, and I want to notice them and them alone—not to complain about any little thing.  This positivity will enhance my days, and it will show gratitude to You for giving me so much.

Come close to my mind and heart to help me develop good habits of being.  Thank You.

Amen.

Being

Dear God,

Yesterday my computer glitch righted itself rather quickly without my doing anything.  Is there a life lesson in this?

Often we don’t need to fuss and bother about “doing.”  Just “being” will often bring things around in a good way.

Thank You.

Amen.

Being Rather than Doing

Dear God,

I seem always to be clamoring after You for guidance.  Is that wrong?  I so much want to live a creditable life.  Life gets in the way of living a creditable life.

If I remember that nothing needs to be done, that I can just “be,” then I am alright.  But this is a truth that is often lost on me.

Help me today to get on the right track.  Thank You.

Amen.

Go to God

Dear God,

I had a bad dream last night, and I awoke feeling unsettled.  The best part of the dream was the indication that I should go to You to solve my dilemmas.  Aren’t You always the Answer?

Thank You for my sense that I am heading into a new era in my dealings with life and all that it brings to me.  I am to “be” more than to “do,” and that is welcome respite.

Thanks again.

Amen.

Being Rather than Doing

Dear God,

I think You have been prompting me to relax.  At last I am ready to do that, just rest in Your arms, give myself some slack.  Just “be,” don’t always “do.”

Thank You for giving me the encouragement that I need to just enjoy being, the encouragement that A Course of Love makes plain:  be often, if that is also my way of living, don’t always do.

Amen.
