Dear God, Stay Near

Dear God,

You know that I have been turning to You more and more as this year ends.  You offer me a peace and comfort, but with good energy—a profound peace, comfort, energy.  Thank You for holding me fast in Your arms.  Thank You for taking away free-floating anxieties and surrounding me instead with great love.  Offering me up to Your Love makes all things right.

Guide my words as I type.  The act of typing to You soothes me and gives me great joy.  May You never withdraw Yourself from me.  May You always stay nearby, living through me, as I know You do.

Thank You for the many blessings of this year, blessings that accrued even in the midst of a long-running pandemic.  May this next year offer Your Love in ever-increasing measure.  May You never leave me, but instead assure me that You are always at my back.

Amen.

Healing

Dear God,

You know my needs.  You always know my needs.  Give me patience.  Give me gratefulness for Your constancy.  I know that when I hear the words of my brothers and sisters, often they are speaking for You.  May I be attentive.

May this holiday season be a time of rejoicing in our blessings.  I can focus on the outer world, the Earth as a whole, and see what is wrong—or I can focus on my little part of it, and see what is right.  That is a choice, and it is also possible to see what is right on this Earth.

Keep me well-occupied today with a healing of my thoughts.  Thank You.

Happier Slant

Dear God,

It is easy to let something rest lightly on my mind, even if the something is disturbing.  It is not so easy to dismiss the thought entirely.

But I am making progress in retraining my mind to a happier slant.  Thank You for Your part in the motivation to do so and the wherewithal to actually do it.

Amen.

Love

Dear God,

I want to feel intimacy with You, and I know the only way that I can do that is to feel Your Love and my love, returned to You.  You are the Force of the universes, everything created.  You knew that Love was the only way that creation would work.  And You have been right insofar as my little mind can see.

Drown me in Your Love.  Let me return to You all the love of which I am capable.

Contemplate

Dear God,

Be with me for a good day.  I am at loose ends this day, after a day yesterday filled with many good surprises.  I guess I am still reeling from the good surprises.

May I just lean back in my easy chair, take it easy, and listen to the thoughts You give to my mind and heart.  Just contemplate.

This is all You are asking of me today.  I appreciate Your care.

Amen.

Illness

Dear God,

A personal friend and mystic—leader to A Course in Miracles community, friend to A Course of Love community, and friend also to other worldwide traditions—is ill.  He is hopeful in recovery, and I join him in that hope.  He is relatively young, and he has much more he would do for You and Your Kingdom.

Give him today a blessing from Your storehouse of blessings.

Peace

Dear God,

I feel close to You, even as I am somewhat agitated this morning. The upset will leave me when I allow time for Your presence in my life to be felt. I ask for Your presence to quell the unrest and give me peace.

I know that Your presence helps in any situation. You are making us stronger by the challenges we face. And greater strength will allow us to grow.

Thank You for soothing me with Your presence this day.

Prompting God to Act in Our Lives

Dear God,

I feel secure in this world, despite the difficulties that exist for all of us.  Security is a matter of Your caring, Your love.  And then I think You prompt our nearest and dearest to help when human help is needed.

Give me a rational head on my shoulders, able to cope, always positive in seeing the bright side of life.  Warm my heart with love for others and for You.

Embody all that I want and need in a Deity.  But this goes without saying.

Law of Attraction

Dear God,

I focus on what I choose to see in my life; this is the “law of attraction” in full force.  And I add feeling to the thought, because feeling is an added dimension that ensures accomplishment.

I think God planned the law of attraction, mainly, for those who cannot seem to sustain faith in Him.  As I have long known, He is the God of the secular as well as the spiritual. 

We don’t need to think that there is a Higher Law that can overrule us.  It is really the “I” in the deepest portion of our being who might overrule our conscious mind/heart.  In our better moments, we are being ruled from an Unconscious enthralled by the Self as a hologram of God.  And we don’t fully comprehend this Self.

Thank You for giving me love today—Your love, experienced as much as it is possible for me this day to experience.

Grateful Heart

Dear God,

I am thankful that a personal concern is resolving, thanks in part to good advice from my husband.  He is such a blessing, in this as in all things!  He knows how much he means to me; I tell him often.

Being grateful for the people in our lives increases our happiness.  Gratitude is such a necessary feature of abundant lives on Earth.

I am grateful today for what You have planned for me in this life.  Thank You, thank You, oh, so much for the blessings You have allowed to descend upon me.
