God Is with Us

Dear God,

The Bible assures us in Isaiah 41:10 that You will be with us, that You will help us.  I have found that to be true.  As the verse also says, please strengthen us so that we will cope easily with anything that transpires.

These comforting words mean much to me.  Help me to remember to say this verse in Isaiah as an affirmation today.

Thank You for upholding us.

Amen.

Happiness

Dear God,

Norman Vincent Peale recommends that we drop unhappy thoughts from our minds twice a day, morning and evening.  He encourages us to re-slant our thoughts to happier living.

I can only turn to You when I attempt to work with my mind.  I find that when I invite You into my heart, my mind acquiesces to the joy that I am seeking.

You are my Rock.  Thank You for giving me good days.

Amen.

God’s Intent

Dear God,

I think I know that Your universe wouldn’t work unless Love were the underlying Force.  And You are that Love, though You let us depart from You, in free will, if we are rebellious.

May I recognize that Your way is forever the best.  And I know that Your way is easier, for Your way is what was intended in the beginning.  And You love us enough to make it easy on us.

Thank You for holding me by the hand and impressing upon my heart Your devotion.

Amen.

In God’s Heart

Dear God,

I am comforted just by the thought of You.  Nothing in this world provides any solace, at least for very long—for we accepted challenges when we were born here.  Nothing changes that.  We must walk through life unaided until we turn to You.

Keep me closeted in the pocket to Your heart.  You have a space for each of us in Your heart, and it is a good space, warm and good and life-affirming.  Thank You.

Amen.

Reconciliation

Dear God,

There is a troubling issue between two of my friends who are alienated from each other.  I am asking for Your help.  Is there anything that You would have me do to effect a reconciliation?  Or would You have me keep hands-off?

I will keep this question in mind and heart, hopeful that You will get through to me with an Answer to this and any questions surrounded this issue. I know I may get my own instincts into the question, and so I ask You to protect my mind from my own wrong thought, keep my heart in true love, Your Love.  When we turn to You, we can’t always be sure that Your Answer has gotten through to us, and so keep me close to Your heart.  I ask for discernment, always in prayerful consideration.

Thank You.

Amen.
