Prayer

Dear God,

Please guide me to pray for the things that need prayer.  Come into my mind and heart, and clue me in to what the needs are.  I do not always want to pray for myself.  The world needs my prayers, too.

Be with our world today.  May the goodness that is inherent in our lives take over and allow You to embrace us.

Thank You.

Amen.

Asking

Dear God,

You want me to ask for what I want.  I have been a long time accepting Jesus’ words about this, because I thought to ask would be greedy.  Asking is not greedy, but supreme good sense.  Do guide me to ask aright, for asking amiss might be a problem.  Save me from myself if I ask amiss.

I appreciate that Your guidance is so constant and so beneficial.  Thank You for standing by, rescuing me when I need it, offering me Your love always.

Amen.

God’s Intentions

Dear God,

Do You really want me to live as who I am and to do what I love to do, or otherwise I live in prison?  A Course of Love says this, and this book comes on very good authority. But Life does take some tweaking to let that command be a good thing.

There is much I need to learn and then eventually, to discover.  Guide me to the sources that will protect my mind and heart as I unravel Your intentions for me.

Thank you.

Amen.

Happiness

Dear God,

You want us joyous!  This part is essential if we are to fulfill Your plans for us in this world.  We can’t inspire anybody to Your way if we have long faces.

Keep me solidly on the path of happiness.  Doing Your work in the world is meant to be fulfilling, and fulfilling work–and play–are the best way we can proceed.

Thank You for encouraging me to be happy!  There is no better demonstration that I love You truly.

Amen.

Change

Dear God,

I am conscious of change as I grow older, but I am not defeated by change.  Change has been constant throughout my life, and it is up to me to go with Your flow.  You have always given me the means to cope with everything, even when I didn’t think I was coping very well.  There was always a gift at the end.

Remembering the gifts is joy personified.  Thank You for Your graciousness toward me.

Amen.

Resolving Pain by the Sense of God’s Love

Dear God,

Pain is an illusion.  It is a false way of viewing this world.  But, in this world, pain seems very real to us.  If we injure our finger and bleed, we will hurt.  So the physical, despite being illusory, impinges on our living.

How might we reduce and eventually eliminate pain in our experience?  Dear God, as always we turn to You.  We dwell on Your mercy, we put aside our hostilities, and we allow Your love to envelop us.

This is the ideal. Please bring the ideal a little closer to all of us today.

Thank You.

Amen.

Peace

Dear God,

I am calming down after a bit of an anxious morning.  I am still learning ways to cope.  It is the pain, almost the only pain, that I experience.  But staying close to You certainly helps.

Choose Only Love says that pain is a mystery, but that it is necessary to accept this mystery if we are to have peace.

I would experience Your peace now.

Thank You.

Amen.

Dear God

When you prompt me to an action that I know is good and right and harmless, I realize that it is important to take heed–even when I don’t understand exactly why.  Your Mind–and Your Heart–are so much larger than mine that I often can’t understand with my little finite mind and heart all that I think I would like to understand.

You save me, repeatedly, when I miss cues.

May I miss no cues today.  Your guidance is palpable and real.  Many thanks that this is so.

Amen.
