God’s Peace

Dear God,

I know that You are with me at all times, but still I fret about inconsequential matters.  Please pour into my mind and heart Your peace.  There is nothing to worry about.  You have it all in hand.

Thank You for the peace descending upon me now.  Just a moment of turning to You, and all is well.

Amen.

Reading

Dear God,

Thank You for my books.  One leads to another, and then another, a blessing that soothes me and gives me insight for everyday living.  I buy some, I visit the public library—all are good.  Without reading, my life would truly be less grand.

Be with me as I choose what to read.  Talk to me through my books.

Thank You.

Amen.

Patience

Dear God,

A long-term idea of mine has just not panned out.  I will do the long-term projects that can succeed, and then let the unlikely or impossible just fall away.  I call this realism; I hope that it is not pessimism.

This idea can be revisited in a couple of years, and I will do so.  In the meantime, I will exercise patience in waiting.

This is my credo for today.

Thank You for always being with me.

Amen.

Relaxation

Dear God,

I am coming to understand why relaxation is so important to our living in this world.  If our very self is not relaxed, we feel tension, and this tension is a barrier to peace.  And peace if Your gift to us.  We can’t receive this gift if we are tied into knots.

Relaxation solves this frequent dilemma.  Help me to practice techniques of relaxation today and every day.  The benefits are obvious, the peace palpable.

Thank You.

Amen.

Relaxing

Dear God,

I appreciate the fact that I find an Answer to the mundane problems of everyday living in my meditations.  I am finding relaxation techniques very helpful; the relaxation brings me closer to You without obstruction from my restless mind.

Thank You for handling life for me, for I feel You living through me with more vigor every day.

Amen.
