Dear God,
I have been thinking this morning of my grandfather’s parting words to me when leaving him after a visit: “Be sweet.” If only I could live up to his words all the time! It may not sound like a tall order, but indeed it is.
Keep me loving and kind in my interactions today. As Jesus counsels, “Love God. Love they neighbor.” And in current times, as the Dalai Lama counsels, “Try to be a little kinder.”
To my mind, love and kindness often suggest being sweet. Three words that can become a mantra to me today. Thank You for guiding my thoughts to meaningful words.
Amen.
