Reluctance

Dear God,

Be with me today.  Help me to have a good day.  When I awoke, I felt, once again, as though a Mac truck had run over me.  But this feeling only lasts a few minutes, and when I get up and get going, the feeling is gone.  Thank You for the brevity of my reluctance to face a new day.  Because that is what it is—reluctance.

This day will likely hold many good things for me.  Most days do.  Help me to focus on the good of the day, and not focus on the ennui of just waking up.  Everybody sometimes feels this way, everybody who is not a morning person.

Amen.

I write prayers, mostly first thing in the morning, to get the day started out right. I intend this blog to encourage others to respond with their own.
